How We Present Properties

The categories every entry is read through: arrival, rooms, dining, public space, surroundings

Each property description follows the same five-part structure. Arrival covers how the property presents itself on approach — its position within a city, resort grounds or waterfront. Rooms addresses the character of accommodation without naming specific room types or quoting counts.

Dining and public space note where restaurants, bars, lounges or shared areas exist, described in general terms rather than as a directory of venue names. Surroundings places the property within its region — downtown streets, golf fairways, lakefront paths or countryside roads.

This framework applies equally to a five-star Charlevoix resort and a three-star downtown Edmonton hotel. The reader always knows where to look; only the substance changes.

Why the entries carry no commercial information, no availability and no star-ranking of our own

Commercial terms change daily, availability shifts by the hour and facilities close for refurbishment without notice. Publishing transactional figures or open-room counts on this site would mislead readers within days, and maintaining them would require a booking engine we do not operate.

Star classes mentioned in entries reflect the classification associated with each property in our source data — a five-star hotel, a four-star resort, a casino category — not an independent score assigned by Smart Wave Digital. We do not rank properties against one another or publish review aggregates attributed to guests.

Deliberately omitting transactional information keeps the guide informational. The official listing page linked from each card is where current commercial terms, availability and booking policies are maintained by the operator or its platform.

Where the photography comes from and what it does and does not show

Photographs on catalog cards illustrate the property they accompany. They represent the building, grounds or setting at a particular moment and are not a guarantee of the condition, layout or availability of any specific room or facility.

Images are selected to give a sense of place — exterior architecture, resort grounds, waterfront views or interior public areas — rather than to showcase individual suites. A photograph of a lobby does not promise that every guest room matches it.

We do not alter images to add amenities that are not present or to remove features that are. If a property's appearance has changed since a photograph was taken, the official listing page will reflect the current state more accurately than any static image on this site.

How to use the listing links, and why the official listing page is always the authority

Every catalog card includes a button labelled "View Property Details" that opens the property's official listing page in a new tab. That link is the only outbound URL on this site — no other page, footer element or editorial section links externally.

The listing page is maintained by the property operator or a third-party platform. It holds current contact information, facility descriptions, policies and — where applicable — availability and reservation tools. Anything published here is secondary to that source.

We recommend reading our entry for context — setting, rooms, dining, surroundings — and then confirming every detail that matters to your decision on the official listing before making any commitment. If you find a discrepancy, the listing page prevails; you may also contact us to suggest a correction to our description.
